I am so tired of people coming to my door trying to sell me things. It has been 3 nights in a row and some jerk has knocked on my door trying to sell me some crap. It sucks!

I thought about putting a sign on the door like this one.

Then I thought I would try and find some signs that really got to the point. Here are a couple that I think may work.
I really like the last one. I mean I don’t come to their house trying to sell them some of my junk, why do I want theirs? I am going to put one of these on my door and we will see how it goes tomorrow since I am for sure to get another one of these scum suckers knocking.

The Cubs!

Do you really think the new owners of the Cubs will do anything to change the team's pathetic results over the past 101 years? If you do then you mush have thought this was "THE YEAR”.

41,000 in the seats every game. That is all they will care about. Sure they will say that they are going to bring a World Series to the North Side, but the good old boys at the trib have been saying that for the past 20 plus years.

Will they spend money on players, sure. Will they be the right players… NO WAY!

I can tell you honestly that I have not watched 1 full game this season. I knew what this team would be once they signed Milton Bradley. I watched every game or just about every game for the past 6 years. Can’t do it anymore. Life it too damn short to waste my summer on these losers.

Hey, but maybe next year is “THE YEAR”.

When the heck did this happen and were did 365 days go? My bouncing baby boy is now a toddler. It’s crazy!

Yesterday we celebrated my son’s first birthday. I can’t tell you how happy he was and how much fun he had.

My wife and I are so thankful and blessed to have this little boy in our lives!

Phone Books!

Do we need these things anymore? In the past 2 weeks I have received at least 3 of these paper wasters on my door step. I can not tell you the last time I actually used a phone book to find a number. I tossed them all away.

It’s 2009, we have something different. I mean if you really need one of these door stops can’t you call and have one sent to you. We have the internet! I understand that it is used primarily for advertising, but who looks at those ads anyway. They are just DUMB!

What do you do with your phone books?

So I am a runner, not a good runner, but I run! I usually log about 20 miles a week, but you could never tell by looking at me. I don’t seem to lose any weight, yet I am out there 4 to 5 days a week. I used to blame my thyroid or the fact that this is just the way I am made, but those are excuses. I wish I could just drop weight like I did 10 years ago, but I have to realize that I am almost 40 and my body acts like it.

I just started keeping track of all the calories I eat by using the app LOSE IT on the IPhone. My issue now is based on my size I should be getting like 2,300 a day, but since I run 5 miles I have to add 1,000 to that. SO 3,300 calories a day!! HOW DO YOU DO THAT??? I just can’t seem to figure out how to eat healthy, but still consume that many calories a day. Right now on a run day my net is 500 to 700. I am eating healthy and staying away from fast food, red meat and BEER (Oh yes, I am going dry).

It is just not fair. Bad foods are high in calories and good foods are low. What Crap!

I am hungry. Time to go drink some more water… Ah Boo!

The Cry it out method

Why don’t babies want to sleep? I mean I would kill for an extra 1 to 5 hours of sleep a day. I am typing this as the Z man is just refusing to take his nap in his crib. I am trying to be the bad guy here and insist that he needs to cry this thing out and get used to going to bed on his own. I don’t get why he just won’t fall asleep! He get’s very close and then BAM! right back with the loud crying.

I feel horrible letting him do this, but he is getting worse with his sleeping and I don’t see another way.

I have read so many things on Infant sleeping that my eyes are starting to bleed. WAIT.. HE just got quiet for 10 seconds and maybe… NOPE! Right back to the loud crying.

Do my neighbors think we are beating him? Do they think we are mean parents (well just me) for letting him do this? I just want my boy to sleep in his crib and for his loving caring parents to get some sleep at night.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I am open to them.

He has been going at it for an hour now! Arrrgggg!!

Zachurday!

So what is Zachurday? It is my day with the Z man! My wife works on Saturday mornings and I get to hang with my boy!

We do all sorts of fun things like walk, go to Target, Best Buy, drive out to grandma’s and more. The best part of the day is that it is just me and him for like 6 hours!

What makes me happy is that he never once screams for his Mommy while she is gone! He just love hanging out with his dad.

I want to be a different type of father than my dad was to me. I am not bashing my dad (he died in 2001), but let’s just say he was not there for many important things and did not have much of a soft side!

I am not sure if it makes me soft, or sort of a girly man, but I like watching my son and seeing him grow and learn new things. It’s special and I don’t want to miss one minute.

I really enjoy being a dad and love my kid.

The Z man is waking from his nap! Time to get back to Zachurday!

Road Construction

So every road I take to work has road construction on it. IT IS REALLY ANNOYING! If we are in financial hardships in this country should we be tearing up every road EVERY summer? I am not making this up and I think most of us go through this every day! My normal drive is 30 min and now it is taking me an hour. WHY????

I get that we need to repair the roads and that they don’t last forever, but EVERY road…. The funny thing is these roads had construction on them last year at this time!
